Directive 2014/33/UE Lifts and Safety Components for Lifts

ECM is a European Notified Bosy for the Lifts and Safety Components Directive 2013/44/EU (LIFTS). Through our testing and certification services, manufacturers can be sure to put on the market products or components for elevators that comply with current regulations and offer the highest level of safety and reliability.

Directive 2013/44/EU, which regulates the CE marking procedures for elevators – a mandatory requirement for placing on the European market and commissioning – covers both safety components and complete elevators and covers the design, manufacture and installation of elevators and their components. The directive applies to both manufacturers and installers of elevators within the European Economic Community.

Ente Certificazione Macchine verifies the conformity of an elevator or safety component by examining the technical documentation and the product and carrying out the necessary tests to verify that it meets the requirements of Directive 2014/33/EU.

ECM is also a private subject authorized under the Ministerial Decree of April 11, 2011 for the verification of work equipment of Annex VII of Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments, which also include groups of equipment for lifting things (SC) and people (SP).
