The year 2021 is ending. Ente Certificazione Macchine, which always stands out for its pro-activity and foresight, looks to the future by already planning new activities and services that can meet the needs of companies.
Supporting companies and workers in their work is our main daily objective. Aware that in this historical moment we are all called on to face new and difficult challenges, ECM is committed to ensuring that products, machinery and equipment are made available to the market in compliance with the safety requirements of the applicable regulations.
However, another year has gone by and it’s time to make a summary, gather energy and look forward to 2022 with renewed hope. For the ECM team, one more year brings many different feelings: satisfaction, nostalgia, experience, gratitude. One more year brings the realization that only through everyone’s commitment can common goals be planned and carried forward.
2021 was the year of recovery, of the return to (almost) normality. And although difficult months still await in the near future, we can say that 2021 has been a year of consolidation and new opportunities.
With pleasure, in 2021 we were able to meet again with companies and professionals live, in full safety. After the long period of the pandemic, which made us explore new tools for doing business, ECM decided to participate in several trade shows.
From medical devices to e-bikes, up to lithium batteries, ECM has gathered consent among the economic operators, who came to visit us at our stands and participated in the conferences we organized. We have met customers, collaborators, professionals, but also unknown faces, with whom we have discussed, to improve our ideas and insights.
Remotely or in presence, in 2021 we have also attended the many institutional meetings involving the notified bodies at European level. These events are essential to promote the alignment between the different regulatory actors and bring their contribution to the definition of the new European regulatory landscape.
Aware of the rapid changes in the regulatory environment and the advancement of new technologies, ECM has decided to invest its resources to strengthen the Academy Division. In 2021, ECM has in fact developed a training proposal to enable companies and professionals to increase their know-how.
In addition to the conferences scheduled at trade fairs, ECM Academy has brought forward a rich calendar of webinars and training courses. On the medical device side, the advent of the MDR 2017/745 Regulation (for which ECM is awaiting accreditation) has increased the demand, from companies, to acquire more skills to face the new regulatory requirements.
On the market side, on the other hand, Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and product conformity has led to more and stricter controls on goods arriving within the European market. Hence, the increased interest of companies in the regulatory and normative environment.
We have therefore planned a series of events, which will continue in 2022, with the aim of raising awareness, training and informing economic operators about safety and compliance.
Throughout 2021, we continued with third-party compliance verification activities on machinery, equipment and products. From 4.0 certification, to testing of e-bikes and electric scooters, to lithium batteries, this year we have verified the compliance of a wide range of products and machinery with the reference standards, to protect the market and workers.
We will continue with our activities in 2022, with the commitment and dedication that have always distinguished us. Our team is also working to carry out the procedures for two new accreditations: the one for the new Medical Devices Regulation MDR 2017/745 (just around the corner!) and the one for the PPE Regulation 2016/425.
We would like to thank all our staff, partners and customers. It is only thanks to their precious daily work and their trust that Ente Certificazione Macchine continues to carry on its activities, to study cutting-edge services and to plan new goals!
