{"id":6437,"date":"2022-12-22T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.entecerma.it\/eu-commission-parliament-and-council-reach-an-agreement-on-the-new-machinery-regulation\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T12:02:52","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T11:02:52","slug":"eu-commission-parliament-and-council-reach-an-agreement-on-the-new-machinery-regulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entecerma.it\/en\/eu-commission-parliament-and-council-reach-an-agreement-on-the-new-machinery-regulation\/","title":{"rendered":"EU Commission, Parliament and Council reach an agreement on the new Machinery Regulation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_22_7741\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agreement<\/a> reached between the Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on the new Machinery Regulation, which will replace the current Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC. <\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The new <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/docsroom\/documents\/45508\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Machinery Regulation<\/a><\/strong>, which will replace the current <strong>Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC<\/strong>, aims to improve and adapt the existing legislative framework to the safety risks arising from new technologies.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:7px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MAIN CHANGES<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensuring <strong>machine safety<\/strong> and increasing user trust in <strong>new technologies<\/strong> (new safety requirements for autonomous machines, human-machine collaboration and, for the first time, the safe use of Artificial Intelligence systems in machines)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reducing administrative burdens<\/strong> and costs for manufacturers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting<strong> legal certainty<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing more <strong>effective market surveillance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>THE TIMELINES<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The European Parliament and the Council will now have to formally adopt the new Machinery Regulation. The regulation will enter into force on the 20th day following its publication in the <em>Official Journal of the European Union<\/em>.
