This audit was aimed at extending ECM\u2019s accreditation for the <strong>RED Directive 2014\/53\/EU, Article 3.3, points (d), (e), and (f)<\/strong>, in the field of <strong>cybersecurity<\/strong>. Once officially formalized, this extension will allow ECM to verify the compliance of certain radio equipment with the essential cybersecurity requirements outlined in the RED Directive, strengthening its role as a key player in the certification sector.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-247989817aee3ffdeb5d8b18a7f5dd14\" style=\"color:#085f9b\"><strong>ESSENTIAL CYBERSECURITY REQUIREMENTS IN THE RED DIRECTIVE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/eli\/dir\/2014\/53\/oj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RED Directive<\/strong><\/a>, through Article 3.3 (d), (e), and (f), sets <strong>essential cybersecurity requirements<\/strong> for the protection of network operations, personal data, and privacy, as well as for fraud prevention.<\/p>\n\n<p>These requirements apply to <strong>devices connected to the Internet<\/strong> or capable of recording, storing and sharing personal information, such as smartphones, smartwatches, baby monitors, and other wireless devices. Through <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022R0030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Delegated Regulation 2022\/30\/EU<\/em><\/a>, in force since 1 February 2022, the European Commission has made these requirements mandatory for all manufacturers of radio equipment <strong>as of 1 August 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c9f8257cc08be83d3a569c7ad0a183b2\" style=\"color:#085f9b\"><strong>ECM\u2019S UPCOMING EXTENSION FOR RADIO DEVICES<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The extension of ECM\u2019s accreditation will enable our company to support manufacturers and importers of radio equipment destined for the EU market by verifying <strong>compliance with cybersecurity requirements<\/strong>.
