ECM confirms its institutional commitment by actively participating in the EU technical meetings of Notified Bodies, contributing to the ongoing development of the regulatory landscape for machinery and lifts.<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Two important institutional meetings recently concluded at the European level, with ECM once again playing an active role in the coordination efforts among Notified Bodies. Our technical expert, Alessandro Cumani<\/strong><\/em>, represented ECM at the 59th CNB-MA HC Meeting<\/strong> in Prague<\/em> (4\u20135 June 2025), focused on the Machinery Directive 2006\/42\/EC<\/strong>, and later at the 55th NB-L HC Meeting<\/strong> in Brussels<\/em> (11\u201312 June 2025), dedicated to the Lifts Directive 2014\/33\/EU<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

TOWARDS A MORE HARMONIZED REGULATORY LANDSCAPE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

These regular meetings among Notified Bodies are crucial opportunities for discussion, alignment, and updating<\/strong>. The technical sessions addressed a number of regulatory topics of common interest, with the aim of promoting a consistent interpretation and implementation of directives across Member States.<\/p>\n\n

In particular, the Prague meeting provided significant space for discussions on the upcoming Machinery Regulation<\/a><\/strong>, which will replace the current directive: a step that will mark a major evolution in the European regulatory framework. The introduction of the new Regulation is expected to ensure greater harmonization<\/strong> and more immediate applicability, enhancing coherence and coordination among stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n

In Brussels, the meeting focused on the Lifts Directive<\/strong> also provided a focus on the analysis of national implementation practices, with the objective of consolidating common approaches<\/strong> and offering consistent responses to market needs and the expectations of competent authorities.<\/p>\n\n

ECM\u2019S ACTIVE CONTRIBUTION TO TECHNICAL DISCUSSIONS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

ECM\u2019s presence at these meetings highlights our active role as Notified Body no. 1282<\/a><\/strong> within the European regulatory landscape. In addition to keeping us constantly updated, ECM brings its field experience<\/strong> to the roundtable, contributing to the review of regulatory queries and helping to develop a clearer and more harmonized framework.<\/p>\n\n
