Serious accident at work in San Cesario sul Panaro: worker run over by a forklift truck

15 January 2026

A 59-year-old worker was taken to Maggiore Hospital in Bologna in critical condition after suffering an accident at work late yesterday morning at a pallet factory in Via della Meccanica alla Graziosa in San Cesario sul Panaro (Modena).

The man, an employee of an external company, was run over by a forklift truck driven by another worker, for reasons currently being investigated by the Carabinieri and occupational health authorities. It was around midday. Emergency services were called immediately, with the alarm raised by the person driving the forklift truck and other colleagues.

Every accident at work is a deep wound for the entire community. These are not just numbers in statistics, but broken lives, destroyed families, and shattered dreams. Safety must be considered a fundamental right, not a formality to be fulfilled. President Mattarella’s words remind us that the dignity of work depends first and foremost on protecting the lives and health of those who work every day on construction sites, in factories, and in production facilities.

In this context, Ente Certificazione Macchine acts as a qualified partner to support companies in achieving and maintaining machinery compliance, helping to reduce risks and safeguard workers’ lives.

The main areas of intervention include:

  • Certification of machinery according to national and European standards;
  • Testing and practical trials to verify the reliability of safety systems;
  • Regular inspections and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions;
  • Specialized training for operators and safety managers.

Thanks to a technical and independent approach, Ente Certificazione Macchine helps companies go beyond simple formal compliance, ensuring that machinery is truly safe and reliable in everyday use. Only through a synergy between a culture of prevention, corporate responsibility, and technical expertise will it be possible to drastically reduce the number of workplace fatalities and build a future in which safety and dignity always go hand in hand.
