CASE HISTORY – MACHINERY SAFETY: COMPLIANCE OF CUBE ICE CREAM MACHINES

13 May 2026

Through a rigorous process of technical evaluation and laboratory testing, the compliance of the CUBE gelato machine with the EMC Directive has been verified, validating the technological excellence and safety of a product that symbolises ‘Made in Italy’ worldwide.

In the landscape of catering equipment and food craftsmanship, safety is not merely a regulatory obligation, but a cornerstone of manufacturing quality.

Cube S.r.l., a company of excellence based in Montebello della Battaglia, has chosen to submit its professional gelato machines to a comprehensive certification process, ensuring maximum protection for operators combined with high-level performance.

A decisive phase of the process involved EMC testing. As these machines feature sophisticated electronics for cooling and motion management, it was essential to certify that the device does not generate electromagnetic interference (Emissions) and remains resilient to external disturbances (Immunity). Tests conducted in our semi-anechoic chamber confirmed the perfect stability of the CUBE machine, even in environments with a high density of electrical equipment.

The certification journey of CUBE machines demonstrates that machinery safety is not merely a regulatory requirement, but a conscious and strategic choice by manufacturers. When a company invests in advanced prevention technologies, as Cube S.r.l. has done, it makes a concrete contribution to creating safer and more sustainable working environments.

As a Notified Body, ECM is proud to support organizations that share this vision. The collaboration with CUBE has represented a virtuous example of how technical expertise and the drive to innovate can converge toward a common goal: bringing machinery to market that is truly safe, reliable, and compliant with European regulations.

We would like to thank our Sales Manager, Marzia Pellegrini, for her successful coordination of this project.
