Machinery and Lifts, ECM attends upcoming European meetings of Notified Bodies

29 May 2025

ECM continues to actively contribute to the European regulatory dialogue on machinery and lifts through its participation in the coordination meetings of Notified Bodies.

In June, Ente Certificazione Macchine will take part in two important institutional meetings organized at the European level, where Notified Bodies will engage in direct discussions with institutional representatives.

On June 4 and 5, 2025, our technician Alessandro Cumani will travel to Prague to attend the 59th CNB-MA HC Meeting, focused on the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This will be an to explore the ongoing transition towards the new Machinery Regulation, which will replace the current directive with a harmonized regulatory framework directly applicable across all Member States.

On June 11 and 12, 2025, on the other hand, it will be the turn of the 55th NB-L HC Meeting, focused on the Lift Directive 2014/33/EU. The meeting will address key regulatory questions arising in various Member States, aiming to promote a shared interpretation among Notified Bodies.

These meetings provide an important opportunity for international alignment and technical exchange. Indeed, Notified Bodies come together to discuss regulatory and technical topics, share field experience, and contribute to the development of common guidelines. In particular, these events enable participants to:

  • stay up to date with the latest regulatory developments;
  • address complex regulatory issues in a multilateral context;
  • submit insights and questions based on hands-on technical expertise.

By participating in these technical forums, ECM gives voice to the real needs of manufacturers and operators, helping to build a clearer, more consistent, and updated regulatory framework. As Notified Body No. 1282, ECM reaffirms its commitment to playing an active and responsible role in the European regulatory landscape, offering concrete contributions to the definition of clearer, shared, and more effective standards.
