Another shadow falls over the labor world in the Bologna area. On a tragic afternoon in Castello di Serravalle, a district in the municipality of Valsamoggia, a 53-year-old worker lost his life following a fatal fall from the roof of an industrial warehouse. According to initial reconstructions, the man was performing maintenance work when, for reasons still being investigated by the authorities and occupational health officials, he fell from a height of approximately ten meters. Despite the timely intervention of the 118 emergency services, there was nothing that could be done for the worker.
The Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case to shed light on the incident and to verify compliance with current regulations, as well as the effectiveness of the individual and collective protection systems adopted on-site.
