Towards the new Machinery Regulation: ECM participates in the European meeting of Notified Bodies

3 June 2026

ECM’s commitment to actively contributing to the regulatory dialogue on machinery continues through its participation in the European coordination meeting of Notified Bodies.

In June, Ente Certificazione Macchine will take part in a major European institutional meeting organized at an international level dedicated to the machinery sector, which will bring together Notified Bodies for a direct dialogue with the institutions.

On June 9 and 10, 2026, our Press Office & Social Media Manager, Luca Serra, will fly to Palermo to attend the 61st CNB-MA HC Meeting, dedicated to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This will be an opportunity to delve into the transition pathway toward the new Machinery Regulation, which will replace the current directive with a harmonized regulatory framework directly applicable across all Member States.

These meetings represent an important opportunity for international discussion and alignment. Indeed, Notified Bodies discuss technical and regulatory issues, sharing hands-on experience and contributing to the definition of common guidelines. Specifically, these events make it possible to:

  • propose insights and queries based on technical, hands-on experience;
  • stay up to date with the latest regulatory developments;
  • address complex regulatory issues within a multilateral framework.

ECM’s participation in these technical working groups makes it possible to represent the concrete needs of manufacturers and operators at the European level, with the aim of building a clearer, more coherent, and updated regulatory framework. As European Notified Body No. 1282, ECM confirms its commitment to playing an active and responsible role within the European regulatory landscape, tangibly contributing to the definition of increasingly clear, shared, and effective standards.
