ECM HAS BEEN APPOINTED BY THE CUSTOMS AGENCY TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO ENSURE PRODUCT COMPLIANCE
In order to guarantee maximum transparency and in line with the spirit of solidarity that has always distinguished us, even more fundamental in this moment of emergency, Ente Certificazione Macchine has activated a direct-collaboration deal with the Anti-Fraud Department of the Customs Agency.
Specifically, given the numerous reports of invalid and/or forged certificates in circulation relating to the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) 93/42/EC and Directive 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment – which we have recently reported also through our official channels – we have started a collaborative partnership with Customs in order to provide direct support in verifying the authenticity of the certificates.
ECM has always been committed to provide its contribution in verifying the conformity of products for the European market which, subject to control by the customs authorities, are often blocked for incompleteness or inadequacy of the documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance with the regulations in force. In the emergency situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in which the demand for medical devices and dpi is growing strongly, it is essential to keep the attention even higher in order to ensure safe and quality devices on the market.
ECM is committed to doing its best to ensure that only valid certificates are circulating and that products are not placed on the market without proper certification.
