The first half of 2024 marked a turning point for Ente Certificazione Macchine. Our commitment to excellence and safety led to the creation of the FutureTech Division, born to meet the needs of an evolving market, focusing on Transition 5.0, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. Through the FutureTech Division, we are at the forefront of testing and compliance verification activities for emerging technologies, offering innovative solutions and advanced services to tackle future regulatory challenges alongside companies.
Throughout 2024, ECM continues to provide services for the battery sector. Alongside the intensive testing and compliance verification activities for lithium batteries, we have carried out an information campaign on the new features of an evolving regulatory framework.
Indeed, with the entry into force of the new Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, the EU establishes harmonized requirements to regulate the entire life cycle of batteries within the European market. To inform companies about the new requirements, we organized a series of informational webinars attended by a large number of participants, demonstrating the growing importance of battery safety and compliance in today’s industrial landscape.
On the medical device front, our team has continued certification activities under Regulation (EU) 2017/745. In recent months, we have issued numerous certificates, verifying compliance with the stringent requirements of the MDR for marketing in the EU. Our Medical Devices Division has also successfully passed the inspection visit conducted by the Ministry of Health and Accredia, consolidating our position as a leading Notified Body in medical device certification.
The second half of 2024 promises to be full of international events and initiatives. Right after the summer break, we look forward to seeing you at FARETE, the business exhibition on 4 and 5 September in Bologna, where we will present our new services. On the other hand, from 11 to 14 November we will be in Düsseldorf to participate in MEDICA, an important opportunity to showcase our activities as European Notified Body No. 1282 for medical device certification.
Moreover, the FutureTech Division is already planning a series of webinars focusing on regulatory changes in Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity requirements for radio devices, as well as the opportunities presented by the Transition 5.0 Plan for companies and capital goods manufacturers. These webinars aim to inform and update companies, supporting them in the digital and technological transition.
Finally, we are expanding our expertise with regard to ECE-R10 homologation, in order to provide even more comprehensive services for the automotive sector.
We wish all our clients and partners a refreshing summer break and look forward to reconnecting in September with renewed energy and determination. Stay tuned for all the news in the pipeline.
Happy holidays from the entire Team of Ente Certificazione Macchine!
